The Director must be a seasoned manager who is well organized, self-directed and capable of a broad range of managerial tasks. Daily activities will include planning, organizing and implementing strategies, as well as effective delegation and mentoring in a participative environment. The incumbent must be approachable and demonstrate the ability to give constructive and useful feedback to staff regarding their job performance. As the organization continues to change and expectations increase, difficult decisions will need to be made, requiring a high degree of judgment, tact, initiative, and the ability to lead by example. Daily activities will include planning, organizing and implementing strategies, as well as effective delegation and mentoring in a participative environment. The incumbent is responsible for the recommendation, development and implementation of procedures, processes, and work instructions within the department(s), and for informing the Chief Nursing Officer of both progress and potential problems.

1. 2. Current ACLS certification required. TNCC/PALS certification preferred.

Knowledge of all regulatory requirements (CMS/ISO etc.) Takes personal responsibility to understand, complete and maintain the professional and technical licensures/certifications required of the position and furnishes Human Resources/Education with the necessary documentation to substantiate compliance.
9. Strong financial acumen and budget development skills.
10. Proficient at all aspects of computer technology, including office applications, networking applications and financial applications.
11. Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills required.
12. Ability to become competent in current electronic medical record and associated applications.
13. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are critical.
14. Determine and achieve departmental goals and set correct strategic direction.
Minimum Work Experience:
1. Minimum of three (3) years of management experience is required.
2. A minimum of five (5) year’s clinical experience preferably in an Emergency Room or Trauma Services setting.
Minimum Education:
For effective performance in this position, the incumbent must possess: thorough knowledge and understanding of patient care principles and practices; good managerial skills; effective oral and written communication skills; judgement, tact, and diplomacy; strong interpersonal abilities; critical thinking skills; and the ability to chair and participate in unit leadership teams and other committees. This combination of knowledge and skills typically would be acquired through the following:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field is required. Master’s preferred
2. Current licensure as an RN in the State of Idaho.
3. Current BLS and ACLS certification preferred.
