About the Role

Goodwill Industries is seeking a dedicated Shift Supervisor in our Orrville Store to help lead our retail team and support the Store and Assistant Managers in the smooth, efficient operation of the store. This hands-on role involves supervising daily activities, ensuring great customer service, supporting staff, and helping maintain a safe, clean, and productive store environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with opening and closing the store, including handling keys and alarm codes.
• Supervise team members during shifts and ensure compliance with store policies.
• Complete cash handling duties: balance drawers, assign/register tills, and prepare deposits.

Position Overview:

As a Production Associate, you’ll work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment assembling, labeling, sorting, packaging, and inspecting small products. This is a piece-rate position, meaning the faster you work, the more you can earn!

Pay & Schedule:

• Training wage during the first two weeks.

• Piece-rate pay — potential to earn up to $18.00 per hour!

• Part-time shifts:

  • Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. or 9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

• Full-time shift:

  • Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

Essential Functions:

• Perform hand and arm manipulation to assemble, label, sort, inspect, and package small products.

• Maintain quality and meet production rate standards.

• Operate department machinery safely and per supervisor instructions.

• Complete manual work such as disassembly, collation, and other tasks needed to complete contract jobs.

• Stand for long periods and lift/carry up to 50 lbs regularly.

• Bend, twist, stoop, push, and pull as needed throughout the shift.

• Safely use compactors, balers, and hand pallet jacks as trained.

• Keep the work area clean and organized.

• Accurately complete personal production sheets.

Store Manager - Make a Difference Every Day

This role helps lead our retail team, ensures excellent customer service, and drives production and sales—all while supporting Goodwill’s mission of empowering individuals and strengthening our community.

Key Responsibilities

Store Operations & Leadership

• Lead a safe and profitable retail store by following operational policies and maintaining excellent customer relationships.

• Manage and coordinate completion of mandatory Orientation, Safety, Customer Service, and 1-Touch training.
• Train employees and consumers on organizational policies, procedures, and Hazardous Materials/MSDS.

• Support special merchandising programs, events, and production goals.
• Attend management meetings and training as needed, lead and facility monthly staff meetings.

Customer Service & Safety

• Provide excellent service to customers, donors, and community members.
• Assist donors and truck drivers with loading and unloading donations.
• Respond to emergency situations and take appropriate action.

Cash Handling & Reporting

• Operate and troubleshoot Point of Sale systems (register, scanner, printer, computer).
• Clear registers, complete cash counts, reconcile cash sheets, and prepare bank deposits.
• Complete accident/incident forms accurately and in a timely manner.

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to chest height; stoop, bend, twist, squat, and work overhead.
• Perform material handling tasks using tools such as a double stacker, sprayer, pricing gun, tape gun, barb tagging gun, and PPE.

Regular Duties

• Maintain positive working relationships with staff, donors, customers, and leadership.
