Work with a team of engineers supporting repair technology development efforts by leading test programs both within a laboratory setting and via commercial subcontracts. Applicant must be able to plan, follow, and execute work efforts, conceive and produce technical instructions and procedures, track procurement actions/budget performance, and write technical submittals and recommendations.

Candidate will also contribute to the development of novel repair techniques, by drafting, placing, following and reporting subcontracted repair method development/demonstration contracts.

The position will also require some travel to vendors and shipyards to support project planning, equipment testing and repair deployment.

Primary responsibilities will include teaming with other engineers as you identify, research, test, and evaluate metallic and non-metallic repair technologies, leveraging existing welding, machining, and other industrial processes. There is also a Project Management focus on the responsibilities of the position including project planning, assignment of work, coordination of resources, and reporting of project performance within NNL's broader repair technology development community.

Candidates must have experience in the following:

• Creating/delivering technical presentations.
  
• Leading and executing laboratory operations.
  
• Developing, testing, evaluating, and eventually qualifying repair procedures in the laboratory.
  
• Consulting with various fabrication vendors and shipyards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Automated/mechanized gas tungsten arc welding
• Demonstrated acumen in executing laboratory work
• Familiarity with inspection methods

Nuclear Facilities Engineer II!

Scope:

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory, Knolls Nuclear Engineering is seeking an early-career Nuclear Facilities Engineer to join our team!

This role is responsible for developing technical work documents that incorporate engineering controls (radiological, environmental, safety and industrial hygiene) necessary for performing work on, testing of, or handling radioactive and/or nuclear material. The candidate will be trained as an Engineer of Radiological Work with duties that will be focused on facility and infrastructure maintenance.

Additional responsibilities may include:

·                    Maintaining project work schedules.

·                    Conducting field observations of work to validate compliance and quality.

·                    Maintenance of Engineer of Radiological Work and supplemental qualifications.

Required Qualifications:

Manufacturing Engineer (Manufacturability)

Scope:

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory develops advanced naval nuclear propulsion technology for the safety and reliability of our Navy's submarine and aircraft fleet. Our company is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Manufacturability team as part of the Propulsion Plant Team Trainer (PPTT) project, which is a multi-site organization engaged in the design, production, testing, and delivery of advanced training simulators.

The successful candidate will:

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineers across multiple locations.
• Review and disposition supplier mechanical design submittals to validate designs based on technical requirements.
• Interface with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are satisfied.
• Understand ASME Y14.5 Geometric Tolerancing principles.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling software.
• Experience with Model Based Design (MBD).
• Experience with Design for Manufacturability.
• Experience implementing Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) into designs.
• Ability to review, understand, and apply relevant engineering codes and standards (e.g. ASME, AWS).

Industrial Hygienist

JGMS Government Services, Inc. is looking for an Industrial Hygienist to join our team in support of the Naval Nuclear Labs.

The industrial hygienist will conduct and document industrial hygiene exposure assessments as part of a comprehensive industrial hygiene assessment of site processes. Assessments include the performance of field surveillances, conducting workforce interviews, reviewing established procedures, reviewing industrial hygiene data, performing industrial hygiene sampling and interpret the results of that sampling. Efforts will include sampling for potential hazards such as asbestos, silica, volatile organic compounds, welding fumes, noise dosimetry, and area noise measurements. In addition, the industrial hygienist will assist with general industrial hygiene work for the site. The individual must use professional judgment while assisting with industrial hygiene exposure judgments.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, safety, or related discipline and at least 6 years of relevant experience.

Experience sampling and calibration of industrial hygiene equipment

Demonstrated strong interpersonal, teaming skills, and the ability to coordinate multi-discipline teams

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to perform duties with full physical mobility, walk on uneven surfaces, climb ladders, while working in an industrial environment with unrestricted access to a nuclear facility

Preferred Qualifications:

American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) Certification (CIH)

Experience with nuclear or heavy construction, chemical processes, or other industrial process facilities.

Knowledge of industrial hygiene sampling techniques

Knowledge of industrial safety and health requirements

Familiarity with industrial hygiene exposure assessment

Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Facility Condition Assessor - Washington D.C. area.

We are searching for an experienced Facility Condition Assessor to join our team! As a Facilities Assessor you will perform inspections on large, complex, and diverse buildings/facilities requiring expertise and knowledge in multiple areas of construction to identify inventory and asses the condition of individual facility systems and building components.

• BUILDER™ Sustainment Management System (SMS) experience is preferred.
• IBM® Maximo® Application Suite, (Asset Lifecycle Management) experience would be a plus.
• Previous Facility Condition Assessment experience is required.

The position requires a TS/SCI security clearance.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated on-the-job experience performing conditional assessments.
