Maintenance I

Maintain a thorough knowledge of R/V Park and Marina
facilities, vehicles, vessels, and equipment as they relate to day-to-day
operations.
Operate
Port vehicles, vessels, and equipment in compliance with OSHA standards. This equipment includes, but is not limited
to: forklifts, boom trucks (5- and 30-ton),
lifting hoists, skiffs, 32' tugboat.
Follow
safety regulations as established by Port policy and report violations of those
regulations.
Responsibilities
for Recreational Marina require availability during working
hours for contact by VHF radio. Must be
able to use VHF radio in compliance with FCC standards. (Regulations available upon request.)
Must have
knowledge and understanding of Port policies, ordinances, and resolutions, as
needed for purposes of Operations.
Must have
an understanding of South Beach Marina rates and charges related to moorage,
lot storage, and R/V Park services.
Understand
and be able to operate bilge pump for emergency vessel pumping.
Operations
duties, including routine custodial, maintenance, and repair to ensure clean
and safe facilities.
Assist Harbor
Master to achieve port objectives and goals
Acts as a point of
contact in absence of direct supervisor
Assist in vessel
moorage.
Maintenance on
equipment and vehicles, some repairs.
Trouble shoot
electrical and plumbing problems.
Pump vessels as
needed.
Move work barges with tug.
Make dock repairs
as assigned.
Repair minor
outages and maintain R/V Park, Recreational Marina
Maintain
daily contact with Harbor Master, Director of Operations, and Administrative
office staff to ensure smooth operations of the facility.
Must be
able to work with a minimum of
supervision.
Maintain
a flexible work schedule to
accommodate peak season demands, special events, severe weather conditions,
etc. (Example: halibut openers, and
recreational salmon season.)
Other
duties and special projects as assigned.
