Madisonhealth is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator in our Day Surgery Department. The Health Unit Coordinator provides indirect patient care consistent with the unit’s standards of care. They meet the communication needs of patients, families, departmental staff, and medical staff. They demonstrate basic computer knowledge. They prepare and compile records. They carry out directions from physicians and nursing staff. They participate in performance improvement activities. They maintain compliance with regulatory agency requirements, as well as nursing and hospital policies, procedures, and standards. They demonstrate performance consistent with the mission, philosophy, and goals of the unit and organization; remain flexible in adapting to changing systems; demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits; and treat staff, physicians, patients, and families with consideration and respect.

Schedule:
- Nights
- Wed & Thurs 6:00pm-10:00pm
- Fill in as needed on nights or days
Required Skills:
- Basic computer skills
- Certified Nurse Aide preferred
Minimum Work Experience:
- Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age and type of patient population served.
- Knowledge and sensitive to patient's rights and confidentiality.
- Knowledge in medical terminology or complete a medical terminology course.
- Demonstrates strong public relations and organizational skills.
- Outgoing, pleasant and shows ability to make the patient feel comfortable and cared for.
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
