Job Description Summary
The Director of Revenue Cycle Management will oversee and
manage the billing department’s operations. This role will ensure that all
billing processes are executed efficiently, accurately and in compliance with state,
federal and company regulations.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
1. Direct
oversight of all billing staff, including hiring, proper training of staff,
conducting performance evaluations, disciplinary items and ensuring staff
remain compliant with company and regulatory standards.
2. Ensure
the billing department adheres to billing deadlines and departmental goals.
3. Oversee
the preparation, review and submission of claims to insurance companies and
government programs (Medicare, Medicaid, etc.)
4. Review
and ensure accurate patient billing, including charges, codes and insurance
information.
5. Responsible
for creating initiatives, policies and procedures geared towards the financial
success and growth of the billing department.
6. Monitor
and ensure compliance with healthcare billing regulations, insurance policies
and applicable state and federal laws.
7. Collaborate
with healthcare providers, insurance companies and patients to resolve billing
discrepancies, denials and disputes.
8. Oversee
the reporting and analysis of billing data to track department performance and
identify areas for improvement.
9. Stay
current on changes to healthcare regulations, billing codes and insurance
policies that affect billing operations.
10. Perform
other duties as assigned by management.
11. Adheres
to Standards of Conduct.
Position Qualifications
Ø Bachelor's
degree in healthcare administration, accounting or a related field is preferred,
but not required.
Ø Proven
experience in healthcare billing, preferably in a supervisory role.
Ø In-depth
knowledge of healthcare billing systems, CPT/ICD codes and insurance claims
processing.
Ø Strong
understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements (HIPAA,
Medicare, Medicaid, etc.)
Ø Experience
with revenue cycle management (RCM) and coding audits.
Ø Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills.
Ø Strong
problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
Ø Proven
ability to manage a team and oversee day-to-day operations.
