We are currently seeking applications for the position of Compliance and Safety Specialist. This position will be responsible for analyzing critical pipeline records, reports, policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with required standards and inspecting and training field operators for audit readiness.
Essential Job Duties:
- Monitor and analyze leak data, spot trends, identify problem areas that need follow up, and present results to relevant departments through in-person training sessions.
- Complete field inspections of RGC and contractor crews to ensure compliance with accepted standards, Operator Qualifications, and RGC procedures.
- Analyze RGC procedures to determine applicability and work with multiple departments to correct any deficiencies.
- Interact with SCC representatives in the field and during office records audits.
- Create and deliver presentations for periodic “Lessons Learned” sessions with RGC and contractor groups.
- Audit exposed main inspections to ensure compliance and complete proper follow-up on identified maintenance needs.
- Audit regulator and critical valve inspections to ensure compliance with standards.
- Review daily vehicle reports in iAuditor and report issues.
- Review daily crew job safety briefings and provide feedback on areas for improvement.
- Review and maintain monthly vehicle safety score and provide to department heads.
- Thoroughly review, process and correct leak data to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Perform annual odorization review and confirm sample points.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- Previous gas construction experience with a high regard for safety and compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Analytical skills to identify trends and report and present conclusions to senior management.
- Ability to problem solve and analyze data, as it relates to pipeline compliance, and compose related reports, letters and documentation for internal and external use.
- Ability to take independent action, seek out opportunities to improve processes, and drive projects to completion.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build successful relationships across all levels of the organization and convey technical information clearly and concisely.
