Physician Assistant – Foot & Ankle Clinic & Surgery Madisonhealth | Rexburg, Idaho

Madisonhealth is seeking a highly motivated Physician Assistant to join a growing foot and ankle practice in Rexburg, Idaho. This position is designed to expand patient access and support a high-volume surgical practice by providing comprehensive clinic-based care while working closely with a fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon.

The Physician Assistant will play a key role in evaluating and managing patients in the outpatient setting, helping optimize patient flow and continuity of care. The PA will also assist in the operating room when needed, particularly with total joint replacement and other complex foot and ankle procedures.


Position Highlights:

  • Independently evaluate and manage clinic patients, including new consultations, follow-up visits, postoperative care, fracture management, and chronic foot and ankle conditions
  • First assist in the operating room for advanced procedures, including ankle reconstruction, total ankle replacement, trauma cases, and complex forefoot and rearfoot surgeries
  • Assist in identifying and preparing surgical candidates while coordinating perioperative care
  • Serve as a key clinical partner to help increase patient access and allow the surgeon to focus on operative care
  • Perform in-office procedures such as injections, casting, splinting, wound care, and minor surgical procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with the surgeon to optimize surgical outcomes and continuity of care
  • Manage clinic patients with a focus on surgical candidates and post-surgical recovery


Schedule:

  • Surgical Assist: Tuesday and Thursday
  • Clinic: Monday, Wednesday, Friday (half day)


About the Practice: Madisonhealth is a progressive community hospital serving the Upper Valley region. This foot and ankle service functions similarly to an orthopedic subspecialty practice, offering advanced surgical care with strong institutional support, modern resources, and a collaborative clinical team.


Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current NCCPA certification
  • Active or eligible for an unrestricted Idaho Physician Assistant license
  • 2–3 years of experience in orthopedics, podiatry, or surgical specialty preferred
  • Surgical assisting experience preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in musculoskeletal evaluation, fracture care, and perioperative management
  • Ability to work independently in clinic while collaborating effectively with the surgeon and care team
