We are currently seeking qualified applications for the position of Leak Survey/Corrosion Technician.
The essential job duties include:
- Collect Cathodic Protection readings on transmission and distribution lines
- Diagnose and repair low Cathodic Protection readings
- Survey natural gas system including transmission, loop, main, and service using walking or mobile methods
- Assist Roanoke Gas employees with locating and identifying potential gas leaks
- Inspect pipeline and report findings
- Gather/measure odor samples and H2S samples
- Enter leak sheet information in to database and file records
- Calibrate leak survey equipment
- Complete Appalachian Underground Corrosion Short Course
Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associates Degree or vocational technical certification preferred
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work successfully with minimum supervision
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with an insurable record
