Respiratory Therapist-(PRN)

The Respiratory Care Practitioner possesses sufficient training and experience to perform independent professional respiratory care diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, clinical evaluation of care including the establishment of therapeutic objectives and the review of care based on the age and needs of the patient. The final and ultimate authority, judgment, and clinical decision making are the responsibility of a physician.

He/she is involved in acute, critical and/or life-threatening patient care areas and situations. Standard practice requires him/her to proceed alone in administering emergency, life-sustaining procedures until such time as judgment and decision making responsibilities may be assumed by a physician.

Required Skills:

1. (Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification, within 3 months of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Upon date of hire. Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) Certification, within 3 months of hire.

Minimum Work Experience:

1. Post-graduate clinical experience in all aspects of respiratory care including extensive critical care background required.

2. Proficient demonstration of ventilator care and management required.

3. Clinical evaluation and assessment skills are required for all age groups of patients served by the facility including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

4. Strong communication skills required.

Minimum Education:

1. Post-graduate clinical experience in all aspects of respiratory care including extensive critical care background required.

5. Obtain credential of Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) within one year of employment.
