Admitting-PBX Operator-(FT)

The PBX Operator is responsible for answering the hospital phone and directing the phone calls to the appropriate person, department, or area of the hospital while maintaining friendly and professional customer service. The PBX Operator will also direct and answer questions by patients and visitors who come into the hospital. This position is often the patient’s first contact with Madisonhealth and is expected to help all patients and customers in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner.

Schedule: Full Time

  • Monday - Friday 7:30am-4:00pm
  • Benefit eligible


Required Skills:

Working knowledge of computer systems and the ability to learn new programs

Excellent verbal communication skills and able to express themselves with courtesy and tact in all types of situations

Must be willing and able to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in carrying out duties

Has strong organizational skills and excellent problem-solving capabilities

Must feel comfortable interacting professionally with patients as well as with hospital employees and physicians


Minimum Work Experience:

One year of PBX experience is preferred


Minimum Education:

High school diploma or equivalent
