Health Information Management-Physician coding Supervisor-(FT)

Under direction of the HIM Director, responsible for the direct supervision of staff who review medical records and code the diagnosis, evaluation and management, procedures or other codes to accurately optimize all professional services documented for billing.

Required Skills:
1. Knowledge of ICD-10 and HCPCS/CPT coding systems.
2. Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
3. Knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology.
4. Knowledge of accurate coding of all provider specialties in accordance with accepted medical and legal standards.
5. Cerner or other knowledge of physician EMR software
6. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows.
7. Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist - Physician (CCS-P) is required.
Minimum Work Experience:
1. Management/supervisory experience in healthcare related field strongly preferred.
2. Minimum 5 years professional fee coding experience is required.
3. Minimum of 3 years auditing/monitoring experience strongly preferred.
Minimum Education:
1. High School graduate or equivalent.
